Start the conversation — directly with college coaches.

Scout Line is direct messaging between athletes and college programs. No cold emails into a void, no agent in the middle — a real inbox, AI help drafting, and recruiting rules built in.

For parents: For athletes under 18, you see every Scout Line conversation and can join any thread yourself. No coach can reach your athlete until you approve the account.

How it works

What Scout Line does

A direct line to college coaches

Recruit & Showcase

Athletes on the Recruit tier can start a thread with any partner program; coaches reply when they want to learn more. Coaches get a filtered inbox of verified prospects instead of a spam folder.

A real inbox, not a black hole

A full email-style workspace: folders, a Focused/Other split, full-text search across every thread, sortable and resizable columns, bulk actions, a Trash folder, and read/unread tracking — so a busy coaching staff can keep up.

AI that helps you write

AI drafts your message in the right voice, and a one-click Refine menu (Polish, Formalize, Elaborate, Shorten) tightens it before you send. Coaches get persona-aware drafts that sound like their own program, and can schedule replies for the right time of day. You always review and approve before anything sends.

Built in, not bolted on

Compliant and safe by default

Compliant by default

Built-in NCAA dead-period and contact-window guards check at send time, helping stop a non-compliant message before it goes out. Every message is screened by automated moderation, flagged for human review, before delivery.

Safe for athletes under 18

For minors, every thread is visible to a parent or guardian, who can join the conversation. A minor's messages get enhanced screening, and attempts to swap personal contact information or move off-platform are blocked. There is no private channel between a coach and a minor.

Built for everyone in the conversation

Separate, purpose-built views for athletes, coaches, parents, and platform admins. Coaches also get a Contact History timeline per athlete and can hand a thread off to a teammate when staff changes.

Scout Line questions

What is Scout Line?

Scout Line is direct messaging between athletes and college coaches on Level Field Combine. Athletes can start a thread with a partner program, coaches reply when interested, and every conversation is verified, on-platform, and — for athletes under 18 — visible to a parent.

How do I message a college coach on Combine?

Upgrade to the Recruit tier, open Scout Line, and start a thread with any partner program. AI can draft your first message, and you refine it before sending. Coaches reply when they want to learn more.

Can college coaches message me directly?

Yes. Coaches can reach out through Scout Line, and you'll see their messages in your Scout Line inbox. If you're under 18, your parent or guardian sees every coach message too.

Is Scout Line safe for athletes under 18?

Yes. For minors, a parent or guardian sees every conversation and must approve the account before any coach can make contact. Messages get enhanced screening, off-platform contact is blocked, and there is no private channel between a coach and a minor.

Can my parent see my Scout Line messages?

Yes. For athletes under 18, parents have full visibility into the Scout Line inbox and can join any thread to ask a coach a question on your behalf.

Does Scout Line follow NCAA recruiting rules?

Yes. Contact-window and dead-period rules are checked at send time, so the platform helps prevent a non-compliant message before it goes out rather than flagging it afterward.

Does AI write my messages for me?

AI helps — it can draft a message and refine it (polish, formalize, elaborate, or shorten) — but you always review and approve before anything is sent. Coaches get drafts written in their own program's voice.

What's the difference between Scout Line and just emailing a coach?

Email goes into a black hole; Scout Line is a verified, two-way channel inside the platform with a real inbox, AI drafting help, NCAA-rule guards, content screening, and built-in parent supervision for minors.

Do I need a paid plan to use Scout Line?

Athletes need the Recruit tier to start conversations with coaches. For college programs, Scout Line — like every coach feature — is free.
