Louisiana State University is a large public flagship research university located in Baton Rouge, the capital city of Louisiana, set along the Mississippi River in the southern part of the state. The campus is known for its expansive, tree-lined grounds and distinctive architecture, and it sits within a city that blends Louisiana’s Cajun and Creole cultural heritage with the energy of a state capital and a busy river-port economy.
